This is my first blogging foray over the Columbia River. I’m not licensed in Washington but Jenny is and has numerous transactions going on up there right now. Since she has clients that are interested in the happenings up there we’ll give this a try. If it is well received, I’ll post similar reports when they come out from RMLS.
Clark County’s inventory is considerably higher than Portland’s: 12.6 months compared to 9.5. Clark County peaked at 17 months of inventory in January. Portland never broke 13 months.

Wow, If you’d asked me, I wouldn’t have thought the Vancouver market was so much slower. I wonder if the stats for suburbs on the Oregon side of the river are as bleak, and the close in neighborhoods are holding up the Portland statistics. Does anybody want to jump on the UGB argument? Either way it helps explain why the listing statistics on HousingTracker deviate so much from the selling statistics on MLS since HousingTracker includes Vancouver in the Portland numbers.

I’d like to hear the argument for the UGB related to the SoWa and Pearl and inner southeast condos that sit unsold and unrented…oh, can’t explain it, can we?!?!
