All who live in Portland are invited to come and help crown a new (or possibly returning) chowder champion. Twelve restaurants and pubs from around the region will come see who will take home the Chowder Cup in the 10th annual Chowder Challenge. The event will take place on Saturday, February 20th, 2016 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m at Lompoc Fifth Quadrant, located at 3901 N Williams Avenue. Anyone aged twelve and above who wishes to participate can purchase a tasting tray of all twelve samples for only $10.00. The cups will not be labeled, and participants can vote for their favorite after tasting all samples. The chowder that gets the most votes will be proclaimed the People’s Choice Winner and will take the Chowder Cup back with them, as well as a cash prize.

The winner will earn bragging rights, and the proceeds from this event will directly benefit
young people who live in Portland via Portland’s Community Transitional School. Come to taste chowders from Lompoc Beer 5th Quadrant, Burnside Brewing Co, Cascade Brewing Barrel House, Farm House Cafe, D’s Bar, Pelican Brewing Company, Saraveza, Produce Row Cafe, Sports on Tap, Stormbreaker Brewing, Uptown Market, and Widmer Brothers Brewing. In addition to the delicious chowder, Portland property owners and all others who attend can enjoy live music, a beer garden, and a raffle for gift cards from the participants.
