The Old House Revival Tour will take place on Saturday, April 9th 2016 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Guests can explore eight historic homes and also visit with homeowners and contractors who have been through the process of working on such properties. There are many who feel overwhelmed with the thought of purchasing a historic Portland property, but there are many rewards in saving these gems from demolition and bringing them back to their once grand state.

Homes on the tour will range in building date from the 1800’s to the 1960’s. Even if a home renovation is not in your near future, it can still be really fun to explore these older homes. Find some inspiration for your own home, no matter the age, from others who live in Portland. Find a new use for that nook or cranny, get new ideas for built ins around the fireplace, or perhaps general decorating or landscaping ideas. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for members of the Architectural Heritage Center, and $15 for young preservationists ages 18-25. Visit the Architectural Heritage Center to learn more about this event, view a map of the homes on the tour, and to register online.
