With technology advancing at a constant rate these days, it’s sometimes hard to keep up. This is especially true in the real estate world. There is constantly a new way to enhance your listing and make it stand out. It’s tough to wade through all the different ways to make your listing unique to find the ones that truly work. Sometimes something will even goes away before it’s really gained traction in the marketplace.
We’ve always wanted to be at the forefront when it comes to technology ready to embrace these trends and be one of the first to try them out and see how they can help our listing, evidenced by our Matterport camera, that we use to do 3D tours of all of our properties.
One of the newer trends that appears to have found it’s place in the market is drone photography. Drone photography has of course become incredibly popular over the last few years as the drone industry has taken off, but how can we apply the use of drones to real estate?
There are certain homes or properties for which the real estate listing can be greatly enhanced with the use of drone photography. A large house with a spectacular view or a expansive plot of land fit this criteria perfectly as it allows you to show off the views and the property at the same time, which often isn’t possible with traditional photography.

We decided our latest listing on NW Alpine Terrace in the Northwest Hills would benefit greatly from drone photography due to the size of the home and the beautiful views from this gorgeous home.
The process only takes about 20-30 minutes to finish since there are only so many photographs the photographer needs to take, but the results as you can see below, are outstanding.

It’s great to see the latest technology put to use in such a meaningful way. We personally believe that virtual reality will be a huge tool going forward for real estate agents and homeowners. If someone wants to feel like they are standing in a home VR will put them there. The drone is great in giving alternate perspective, but I don’t think this will work with all homes in the same way VR would. Still great though.
Great article! So true, technology is playing such a vital role in real estate these days. Not only is it a good idea to get drone photos and video taken of a listing, but it’s equally a good idea to employ the latest internet technologies such as SEO as well. Thanks for sharing these awesome tips!
This article is worthy of recognition and comment. I found this material attention-grabbing and engrossing. This is well-scripted and highly informative. These views appeal to me. This is how real writing is done. Thank you.
Drones can also attach 360 cameras like the Ricoh Theta or Samsung Gear 360. Both video and photo content can serve as great 360 tours of homes. With drones and 360 cameras getting cheaper in the market, it’s definitely a game changer.
